Pirates of the Caribbean: Tales of the Code: Wedlocked was a short movie inspired by the Pirates of the Caribbean film series and was it was the precursor to The Curse of the Black Pearl. The plot was inspired by the original film’s “Auction scene.” The short film features John Vickery (Auctioneer), Vanessa Branch (Giselle), and Lauren Maher (Scarlett). The film is produced by James Ward Byrkit, made by Leora Glass, and composed by Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio.
About Pirates of the Caribbean: Tales of the Code – Wedlocked
Wenches Scarlett and Giselle make each other look good for their wedding, where they will each wed their respective grooms. When they realized that both grooms were the same person, Jack Sparrow, the two wenches could find themselves in an auction facilitated by an auctioneer. This short film is an introduction to The Curse of the Black Pearl and explains what happened to the boat that Jack Sparrow used; The Jolly Mon was seen sinking at the start of the entire story, what caused the wenches to be so angry with him, and why Cotton was unable to speak.
Plot
The auction began as the Auctioneer handed a floral bouquet to Giselle as the first girl to be auctioned off. After a pirate offered only five silver pieces, Giselle reacted angrily, as Scarlett started using this to her advantage and displayed her wealth when the auction commenced. The Marquis D’avis offered twenty pieces to Scarlett, who he called”the “redhead.” Knowing how Scarlett was a successful venture and was a very profitable venture, the Auctioneer took the bouquet from Giselle and presented the bouquet to Scarlett. The crowd, headed by a drunk pirate, begins to chant, “we want the redhead!” Knowing that she was likely to lose to Scarlett, Giselle started competing with Scarlett to win the most bid. A few requests later, Giselle stated that she was underbid.
