If you have updated your hardware including the graphics card and your PC is still running slowly when you are playing games, then it may simply be that you have too many programs installed. The more programs you have on your computer, the slower is it likely to run as this will eat up precious processing power and RAM. It’s a good idea to go through your computer and clear out as much disk space as possible by uninstalling any old or unnecessary programs that you don’t use any more and cleaning up by deleting old files.

    Consider Overclocking the GPU

Before you do this step, it’s important to make sure that overclocking is possible for your GPU, as many of them will be factory locked. If you can overclock your GPU, then it might be worth considering if you want to improve your PC’s performance for gaming. To do this, you will be running the graphics card beyond the factory setting, so there are precautions that you’ll need to take. You can find software to help you determine your GPU’s benchmark and decide how you can run it in a way that will improve performance without causing damage.

    Upgrade Other Hardware

Along with your graphics card and graphics drivers, there are other hardware components that you can upgrade for better performance. For example, switching out a hard disk drive for a solid state drive (SSD) can make a lot of difference when it comes to reducing game load time. If your PC is fairly old, then you may even want to consider upgrading the CPU to one with more cores, which will be more capable of handling powerful gaming software and multiple tasks at the same time.
