What’s black, white, and punk rock everywhere? The first image of Emma Stone as Curella De Vil from Disney’s Cruella film, that’s what. After years of impatient waiting for us to see the movie, we’re now finally able to see what it’s like in the 101 Dalmatians world featuring Stone as the famous (or is it monochromatic?) villain. Let it be said that the never-ending anticipation is worth looking at this dark and gloomy sneak look.
Stone herself was featured in a video announcement at the weekend’s D23 to unveil the first image of her character’s main character in the live-action version of Disney’s. If you’ve had difficulty visualizing Stone to be the crazy dalmatian obsessed madwoman, this picture revealed by Stone will surely help you create a little more of a storyline in your head. Perhaps the thing that stands out the most is that the image is the anchor for the film’s new setting set in 1970’s London.
Disney unveiled the first glimpse at Stone as she appears in the film due out later this year, Cruella at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, and we’re delighted with her overall appearance. The photo shows the Oscar-winning actress in a white and black hairstyle with a gorgeous belted black leather moto jacket. The shot also shows her holding Leash for three Dalmatians, which appears to be two of her henchmen gazing at her.
Stone will portray the younger and more punk version of the famous character before 101 Dalmatians. The film will focus on her youth in the 1970s of London and will show how she became the legendary villain we like to dislike.
Emma Thompson, Paul Walter Hauser, Paul Walter Hauser, and Joel Fry round out the actors. The film will release on May 28, 2021.
