Arctic Monkeys is an English rock band that formed at the end of 2002, within High Green, a suburb of Sheffield, England. The group consists consisting of Alex Turner (lead vocals, lead guitar, rhythm), Matt Helders (drums and singing), Jamie Cook (lead/rhythm guitar) and Nick O’Malley (bass and back vocals). Former singer Andy Nicholson (bass guitar, backing vocals) was dropped from the group in 2006, shortly following their first album released. Their sound has changed drastically between albums to album, changing from raw, youthful post-punk-inspired music to R ‘n’B and jazz-influenced explorations.
