Apple isn’t keen on having you install macOS on your PC. However, it doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be accomplished. A variety of tools can assist you in developing an installer that will let you install every version of macOS, starting from Snow Leopard onwards, on a non-Apple PC. This will lead to something known as the Hackintosh.
Before we start, remember that Apple’s licensing for macOS explicitly prohibits its use on devices other than the Mac. So, if you decide to install it on a different device, do not claim that we did not advise you. How do I create a USB bootable drive to use to install Hackintosh?
The first step when installing macOS on a Windows PC is to create your bootable USB drive with macOS installed. If you’ve got your Mac and the USB installed, follow the instructions below to make the USB capable of booting. macOS USB:
- Start the Mac App Store on your Mac. Log in using your Apple account on the next page. Find the latest version of macOS and download the most current versions.
- Start your Mac using the Command + R keys to enter the recovery mode.
- Hold down your Command + R button when you can see the Apple icon and a Progress bar on the screen. After that, you’ll have to sit and wait until macOS Recovery loads.
- Then, go to Utility > Terminal. When the Terminal appears, type “csrutil disable” and hit Enter.
- It would be best to be patient until the Terminal shows a message saying that SIP is turned off.
- Go to the Apple menu and restart Your Mac.
- If you’re Mac is already booted, Connect to the USB. Start Disk Utility. Then, in the lower left corner, select”Connect” to the USB Drive and then click on erase.
- The menu pops up where you can select an appropriate title for your USB drive. Then, choose your drive Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Then click erase.
- Then Click Done.
- After that, you can open the Unibeast application. If you don’t have it installed, download the most recent version.
- Click Continue, and confirm that the application is completely functional. You’ll then see the Window filled with the USB drive you made earlier. Once you’ve done that, proceed.
- Choose Catalina and Click Continue.
- You can then select the following option, UEFI Boot Mode or Legacy Boot Mode, then choose Continue. If you’re running older equipment, opting for Legacy Boot Mode is recommended.
- Ensure you use an NVIDIA or ATI graphics card; click the Continue button.
- Be sure to confirm your choice by pressing Continue. Make sure to enter your password if required, and click Yes.
Unibeast can produce the media for installation. It could take some time. Be patient till the process is completed.
How to install macOS on a PC using the installation USB
Once you’ve made your macOS setup USB and are ready to remove it from your Mac, connect it to the computer you’d like to turn into a Hackintosh. It’s a long process that involves creating a brand new drive for your PC before running the clean install on macOS. If you do not plan to format or erase your Vision, you must remove it and install another drive before the process begins.
Tips: If the PC is configured to boot via USB, you will see this screen without taking further action. Otherwise, press F8, F11, and the corresponding keys on your motherboard to choose that USB drive as the boot device.
- Choose the language you want to use and press the forward button.
- Select Disk Utility from the MacOS Utilities menu.
- Choose the drive that is on your PC in the left column.
- Click Delete.
- Choose a new name for the drive. Select APFS as the format for your file, and then select erase.
- Click Done.
- Return to the main macOS Utilities menu and choose Install macOS, after which you can select Continue.
- Select Next and start installing macOS on your PC.
When the installation process is complete, the computer will restart. You may need to choose macOS Catalina in the bootloader if macOS cannot load independently.
Finish configuring your Hackintosh.
The computer you are using has macOS operating at present. The OS can perform to some extent; the rest depends on the specific hardware. Sometimes peripherals must be repaired, graphics must be displayed correctly, or many other issues arise.
Even if your current Hackintosh has been working for a while, the most critical step for installing macOS on your computer is to run the cost-free MultiBeast application, which is available through Tonymacx86. It will set up your macOS application to work best for your PC’s hardware; therefore, running this in a timely manner is advised.
Open your Multibeast application. From the Quick Boot menu, select UEFI Boot Mode if your system supports UEFI and Legacy Boot Mode if it does not support BIOS.
If you cannot download the app, please download the latest version of MultiBeast from the Tonymacx86 Tools download section. MultiBeast is an entirely distinct program in comparison to UniBeast. You’ll still be able to access it from the same spot.
Select Drivers. Then, select the appropriate audio driver to run your device.
Select Misc and select the appropriate driver.
Strategies: Depending on your hardware, You must choose between USB drivers for your network or disk.
Click Bootloaders and select the bootloader you would like to use.
Once you’ve clicked Build, check your settings, then click Save to store the Multibeast area. If you’re having problems with your chosen settings, install them on your computer and then change them later to tweak the environment.
Click Install.
Click Agree.
If you see this message, it’s possible to restart your Hackintosh. If the program operates similarly to what you expect, you’re all set to start. If it doesn’t continue the program, you’ll need to run MultiBeast over again and be sure that you’ve selected all the drivers and settings specific to your computer’s hardware.
